The streets have been unusually quiet over the last few days as Bangladesh’s capital saw the greatest disturbances in decades when the border guards mutinied.

Paramilitary Bangladesh Rifles soldiers staged a dramatic and bloody armed uprising   just two months after the new democratically-elected government was returned to power by a huge majority.
